The J. S. Latta Company originated in Cedar Falls, Iowa and was founded by John Stewart Latta in 1898 serving schools, teachers, and children. The Huntington branch J. S Latta Inc. was opened in 1931 in Huntington, WV across the street from Marshall University’s Old Main.
